Professor Sally Brown

Professor Sally Brown is an Independent Consultant in Learning, Teaching and Assessment and Emerita Professor at Leeds Beckett University where she was, until 2010, Pro-Vice-Chancellor. She is also Visiting Professor at Edge Hill University and formerly at the Universities of Plymouth, Robert Gordon, South Wales and Liverpool John Moores and at Australian universities James Cook Central Queensland and the Sunshine Coast. 

She holds Honorary Doctorates from the universities of Plymouth, Kingston, Bournemouth, Edinburgh Napier and Lincoln. 

She is a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a Staff and Educational Development Association (SEDA) Senior Fellow and a National Teaching Fellow.

She is strongly committed to Enterprise Education, as a previous keynoter at the Enterprise Education Conferences and events and is keen to see students during their degree studies continue to be supported to develop a range of skills and competences  to  support their careers and future lives.

Professor Kay Sambell 

Kay Sambell has been at the fore-front of the assessment for learning movement in higher education from its inception in the mid 1990s. She co-led the UK national Centre for Excellence in Assessment for Learning (AfL) and has spearheaded many associated conferences and networks over the years. As a Visiting Professor at the University of Cumbria, she serves as President of the hugely popular Assessment in Higher Education conference, https://ahenetwork.org/registration-accommodation/ which brings the community of practitioners and researchers together to lead the continued development of assessment for learning internationally. 

Kay was one of the first Professors to be awarded a personal chair for her contributions to Learning and Teaching. She has worked for Northumbria University and Edinburgh Napier University, where she has led a range of influential developments to benefit student learning. She publishes widely and is in popular demand as a keynote speaker, workshop leader, and external adviser, including, most recently, in Hong Kong and the USA, as well as at numerous institutions and organisations in the UK. 

Kay is a National Teaching Fellow and an HEA Principal Fellow. She occasionally undertakes independent consultancy work.

Paul Coyle

Paul Coyle is the Founder and Director of the Entrepreneurial Mindset Network, a free membership organisation with members in 70 countries. Paul’s vision is that everybody can benefit from having an entrepreneurial mindset. The Network promotes the power of the entrepreneurial mindset in personal, organisational and societal change.

Paul is known as an international expert in leadership, organisational transformation and the entrepreneurial mindset. He has given presentations at conferences, written papers for journals, authored reports for national projects, been interviewed for specialist publications, undertaken quality reviews and written numerous organisational strategies, policies and internal reports. He is an expert advisor for HEInnovate, the online entrepreneurial self-assessment tool for HEIs that has been developed with the support of the OCED and the European Commission. He has also been actively involved with the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) for a number of years, undertaking peer reviews of funding applications and acting as a juror for the EIT CHANGE awards.

From 1995-2013, Paul enjoyed a successful career in Higher Education, which included a decade at executive level. He held the titles of Pro Vice-Chancellor, Executive Dean, and Professor of Entrepreneurial Leadership, and he worked in many disciplines including art, business, computing, design, entrepreneurship, health, IT, management and science.

Julienne Shields

Julienne Shields is the Chief Executive Officer of the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE). Prior to this role, she was the Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois, USA, and an entrepreneur in her own right launching a tech startup out of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign’s EnterpriseWorks incubator. Julienne now focuses her efforts on USASBE’s mission of advancing entrepreneurship education through bold teaching, scholarship, and practice.
