Professor Osama Khan is the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Academic, at the University of Surrey, Guildford, UK. He is the strategic lead for the University’s education agenda providing talented and motivated students from all backgrounds with an outstanding education that is inclusive, research-informed, technologically enhanced and professionally enriched with industry partnerships. He holds a Professor in Practice title at the Surrey Business School. He also manages the University’s centre of excellence in education: The Surrey Institute of Education, as well as the Library and Learning Services. Currently, he has been leading on the Hybrid Education model at the University as a strategic response to the Covid19 pandemic and driving digital transformation in education and student experience. He is a member of Council, Chair of UEC and serves on the board of Farnborough College of Technology, the TEF Advisory Group, Student Minds Advisory Group, Prevent and the EM3 Skills Advisory Panel.
Osama has 23 years of experience in teaching corporate finance, derivatives, mathematical economics, real estate finance and economics and investment management in various universities including the University of Surrey, University of Cambridge, University of Hong Kong, Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, Copenhagen Business School and HEC Paris.

Professor David A Kirby is one of the pioneers of Entrepreneurship Education in the UK. In the early 1980s in Wales he introduced extra-curricular entrepreneurship education programmes for small business, students, the unemployed and women before moving to Durham University where he held the Booker Chair in Entrepreneurship in the Service Sector. Here he introduced the UK Government Enterprise in Higher Education initiative to the University and developed, with the late Professor Jose Veciana of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, a 6 month European Doctoral programme in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management.
As Pro-Vice Chancellor and Dean of the Business at Middlesex University, he established the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development Research (CEEDR) with Professors Smallbone and North as its founding Directors. At Surrey University he developed new Entrepreneurship Programmes at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and set up and managed the first SETsquared Incubator on the Research Park.
In 2007 he moved to Egypt to help launch a social enterprise, the British University (BUE), where he introduced Entrepreneurship Education to the University and the country. In 2017 he returned to the UK and formulated the concept of Harmonious Entrepreneurship to address the Sustainability Challenge. In 2020, with Dr Felicity Healey-Benson of UWTSD, he co-founded the Harmonious Entrepreneurship Society which became a social enterprise spinout of the University in 2022. He has some 200 publications and holds Honorary Professorships at Almaty Management University, the BUE, Tehran University and UWTSD. He is the holder of numerous awards including 2 ICSB Mini Globe Awards, a Lifetime Achievement Award of the ACEEU and The Queen’s Award for Enterprise Promotion.
Research in Entrepreneurial Education, Chalmers University of Technology & Co-Founder, Me Analytics
Martin Lackéus is a researcher in entrepreneurial education at the division of Entrepreneurship and Strategy at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden. He is also a teacher at Chalmers School of Entrepreneurship. Martin’s research focuses on how individuals develop entrepreneurial competencies in education through value creation processes, and how such processes can be assessed. His research has been published in leading scholarly journals such as Small Business Economics, International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behaviour Research and Journal of Small Business Management. In 2016 Martin defended his PhD thesis on value creation as educational practice. Martin also works part-time as an entrepreneur with an IT company he co-founded; Me Analytics develops the research tool LoopMe.
Honorary Professor, University of Stirling
Joe Little is currently an Honorary Professor at the University of Stirling and Senior Advisor to the Chief futurist at Deloitte.
He has 37 years of industry experience at BP, BAe (Space and Comms) and beyond. His primary focus in the last decade and half has been researching emerging technology, educating executives and business leaders on their likely impact and disruption.
He has presented keynotes at many conferences as well as at The Royal Society, Stanford, MIT Sloane, University of Edinburgh Business School and IE Madrid. In addition to this he has co-authored chapters in 2 books “Learning in 3D” with Karl Kapp and Tony O’Driscoll and “Next Generation Learning Unwrapped” with Nick Van Damm.
In 2009 he was part of an expedition to Antarctica, taking 50 of the brightest climate change champions to the Peninsula.
As well as mentoring students and faculty at the University of Stirling he continues to advise several businesses and start-ups primarily introducing technologies into large companies.
He a certified Futurist with the Institute For The Future and was accepted into the Association of Professional Futurists in 2020. He has been a Fellow of the oneScotland initiative and an ambassador for the Scottish Business Network. Until September 2021 he was a certified Project Management Professional with the PMI.
In 2021 he took up the honorary role of Digital Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of Stirling and was awarded and Honorary Professorship in July 2022.
He is the co-author of “The Entrepreneurial Campus Blueprint” which was formally launched as policy by the First Minister for Scotland on 28th June 2023.
In June 2023 he helped author a report on the Future of Space for Deloitte NExT Futures team.
Associate Director Research Innovation and Knowledge Exchange (Impact), University of York
Following a scientific career in research and industry, Amanda moved into business intelligence with GlaxoSmithKline prior to joining the University of York in 1999.
Amanda is responsible for the engagement of the University with business with a focus on impact through the development and delivery of professional development and executive education courses, enterprise education, technology transfer, regional economic development and impact.
She has institutional responsibility for the knowledge exchange framework (KEF), the knowledge exchange concordat (KEC) and the higher education innovation funding (HEIF)
Amanda is also the incoming chair of Praxis Auril the professional association for knowledge exchange professionals
Professor John Thompson
Emeritus Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Huddersfield
John Thompson is Emeritus Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Huddersfield; he is also a Visiting Professor at Anglia Ruskin. In the past he has had visiting links with Universities in Australia, Finland and New Zealand.
He has written several texts on both entrepreneurship and strategy; his most cited papers are on social entrepreneurship. He was a Board Member of The Case Centre for 25 years and also served on the EEUK and ISBE Boards.
He is committed to experiential entrepreneurship and his main research interest remains identifying people with the potential to be entrepreneurs and social entrepreneurs – work he first developed with the late Dr Bill Bolton. In 2009 John received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise Promotion.

Dr Emily Beaumont is an academic and academic manager at Gloucestershire Business School.
As an academic, Emily has dedicated her teaching and research to the disciplines of enterprise, entrepreneurship and employability, and the quality of her work in this area saw her voted to be President of Enterprise Educators UK (2021-2023) and awarded with Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy, Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, and Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce.
Emily combines excellence in teaching with a strong research ethos, supporting a business school that is dynamic in its offer, and flexible and reactive to the rapidly changing and evolving world of business.
Founder, The Book Lady
Tobi Eyinade is a recent Surrey MBA and the founder of The Book Lady- a boutique PR agency that helps minority ethnic authors thriving. Through their current partnership with the Surrey Libraries, they deliver a monthly book club that spotlights African authors whilst developing a digital platform and academy for self-published black authors to promote their works.
With over 8 years entrepreneurial experience that spans two continents, she is passionate about encouraging more female founders to take up space in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Over the last two years, she has enjoyed the support of the Student Enterprise at the University of Surrey and is a recipient of the 2022 Santander Foundership Awards.
Elin is the founder of Bantani Education, a non-profit based in Belgium and working internationally on entrepreneurial and creative learning for social, cultural and economic development – to develop skills for change. Bantani works to innovate practice, influence policy and build community, and is behind The EntreComp Community, a network of 1300+ people and organisations from education, employment, policy and business. Elin has a working background across policy, practice and evaluation, influenced by her experiences as a youth worker developing life-skills with disadvantaged youth and refugees in south Wales, volunteering as a teacher in rural Zimbabwe and ten years working in entrepreneurship education policy with Welsh Government and European Commission. She works as a global expert on entrepreneurial learning and skills, publishing widely via research and studies.
