Day 3: Wednesday 10th September 2008

Day Three: Becoming ‘Fit For The Future’: Global and Stakeholder Perspectives

below indicates a link to speaker presentations available to download.

Day Three considered the broader global and stakeholder context influencing the shaping of the entrepreneurship education landscape and outcomes. We deepened our understanding of this landscape across Asia and across the USA:

  1. Presentations from China and perspectives on activities in other countries
  2. British Council – linking Chinese and UK Universities in Entrepreneurship Education
  3. Views from the Kauffman Foundation

The Conference continued to showcase more new and innovative techniques, methods and approaches to the delivery and embedding of enterprise and entrepreneurship education. These sessions were primarily about sharing experiences and learning from each other. They were active and inclusive to provide maximum opportunity for the cross-fertilisation of ideas.

Later in Day Three came the focal point of the Conference. We considered what actions need to be taken in ‘Becoming Fit For The Future’ from the perspective of our key stakeholders: Government, business and industry, entrepreneurs, students and graduates, and educational leaders.

Key Questions for Day Three to address:

  • What can we learn from a better understanding of global contexts?
  • How do we deliver valued outcomes to our stakeholders: students, institutions, employers, Government?
  • What approaches and ideas are innovative and interesting? How can we learn from these and adapt them to our own environments?
  • What actions need to be taken in becoming ‘Fit For The Future?
